The Real Girl Diaries: Episode 5

I’ve feared a lot of things in my life — spiders, accidentally replying-all, and once, the idea that if my body changed, I wouldn’t like myself anymore.

“How to Romanticize Life When Your Planner is Empty and So Are Your Cabinets”

(Subtitle: Healing is real. So is late-night coffee or tea with chocolate.)

Let’s be honest:

I’ve feared a lot of things in my life — spiders, accidentally replying-all, and once, the idea that if my body changed, I wouldn’t like myself anymore.

Not because of how others might see me…

But because I was afraid of not recognizing or accepting the girl in the mirror.

But now?

I’m in a body that feels like home.

Not super skinny. Not anything for anyone else.

Just lean, strong, healthy — and most importantly, mine.

And for once, I’m not at war with it. I’m at peace.

💪 So how did I start healing?

🥣 1. Comfort food, but make it wholesome

My emotional support snacks?

Turkish yogurt, whey protein, fruit (because antioxidants, duh), and yes — chocolate. 🍫

Balance isn’t a myth. It’s just me in my pajamas eating a peach and a chocolate square at the same time.

🌿 2. I accepted that peace isn’t something people give me

It’s something I build, piece by piece.

Sometimes with a podcast.

Sometimes with journaling.

Sometimes with just breathing and not answering a single text.

Would it be nice to have more people to talk to?

Yes.

But I’ve also learned how to be my own best friend — and that’s a relationship worth romanticizing.

🧠 3. I built a life I actually enjoy living in

Not always busy.

Not always full.

But meaningful.

A little quiet.

A little soft.

A little sweet — like the berries I eat with my protein shake when life’s too much.

📖 How do I romanticize the ordinary?

Not always but sometimes I light a candle while scrolling my empty planner like it’s a Parisian novel. I tell myself “This is your soft girl era” while making fruit bowls I turn on jazz and pretend washing my whey protein shaker is a self-care ritual I remind myself that a quiet day isn’t a failure — it’s a chapter

✨ The truth is:

You don’t need to have it all together.

You just need to have you.

And when you start liking who that person is —

Empty cabinets and all — that’s when the real glow-up begins.

And don’t forget to dance 🪩 Dancing is very vital for you to feel like you’re a star 💫 Because you’re a star!
