Why Being Different is Actually the Best Part

If you ask me what makes a person unique, I would say everything. Moreover, I think all people are unique. We are created in a way that nobody can ever be the same. Everybody has their own little differences and I think that’s just so beautiful.

Take me as an example. I love all the colors. Of course I have my favorites, but I always try to wear color in some way because I believe colors just give us so much energy. Honestly, if you aren’t wearing at least one thing that screams “I have a personality,” are you even really living? Pro tip: if you’re having an off day, just wear something bright yellow. It’s hard to stay grumpy when you look like a walking sunflower. But here is the weird thing: when I am super happy, I actually wear all black. I don’t know why I do it, it just happens unconsciously, but I love it. Even if right now I am literally sitting here in a blue hoodie and grey joggers. Maybe the mood just changes with the outfit, who knows?

Sometimes I just get this super cute, intense urge to learn something random and I drop all of my boring work. Like, I’ll suddenly have this dead serious, super important, world-stopping question: What is the absolute bluest flower in the world? I have to learn it right that second. I dig into it so deeply, I get all the info I need, and only when I am totally satisfied do I go back to my actual work. My brain is basically just a browser with 400 tabs open, and at least 390 of them are about things that have absolutely nothing to do with my job.

Maybe somebody else would find that a bit silly, but this is me. This is just an example of my own brand of uniqueness.

And it made me think, what’s yours? What is that one thing you do that makes you, you? I really want to know because the world is so much better when we stop trying to be the same and just embrace our own weirdness.
